Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has urged Ghana to give their all in securing maximum points in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali in September.

The Black Stars will host Chad before facing Mali, with both matches expected to provide a tough test for Otto Addo’s side. Ghana will be aiming to strengthen their position in the group and build momentum as the qualification race heats up.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports’ Gabby Ofei, Dauda emphasised that the results from these fixtures could prove decisive in the team’s bid to book a place at the global tournament.

“We have two games ahead of us, and we are calling on Ghanaians to pray for us, but we need to win these matches against Chad and Mali,” Dauda said, stressing the importance of unity and national support.

Ghana currently finds itself in a highly competitive qualifying group, and back-to-back victories could give the team a significant boost in their quest for an early qualification to the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
