The Accra Sports Stadium will host Ghana’s remaining home matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, following the disqualification of the Baba Yara Stadium.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum confirmed the decision, citing sanctions imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA on the Kumasi-based venue for failing to meet international standards.
“At the moment, the only approved venue for Black Stars matches is the Accra Sports Stadium. That will host Black Stars games in September and October,” Asante Twum told 3Sports.
Ghana are set to host Mali and Comoros in the next round of qualifiers, as the four-time African champions look to secure a return to the World Cup for a fifth time.
The Black Stars played their most recent home fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium in March, defeating Chad on Matchday Five of the qualifiers.
After six matches, Ghana top Group I with 15 points, three ahead of second-placed Comoros.
