Former Ghana international Yussif Chibsah has sounded the alarm for Asante Kotoko, warning the club to raise their game as they prepare for their first continental campaign in three years.
The Porcupine Warriors, back on the African stage after lifting last season’s Ghana FA Cup, will host Nigeria’s Kwara United between September 19-21 in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup’s opening leg before traveling for the return fixture a week later.
“I presume Kotoko is on course, but It’s a different goal playing in the continental games,” Chibsah told Kessben FM.
“It’s a different stage and different level altogether. I still believe they need to prepare very well.”
Victory over Kwara would pit Kotoko against Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round in October – a tie Chibsah believes will demand flawless preparation if Kotoko hope to make an impact.
