Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito says his team has put their CAF Confederation Cup disappointment behind them and are now fully focused on competing for the Ghana Premier League title.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a heavy 6-1 aggregate defeat to Wydad Athletic Club in the final preliminary round of the continental competition, ending their hopes of reaching the group stage.
Speaking to AKSC Media, Zito admitted that while the defeat was difficult to accept, the team has quickly shifted its attention to domestic duties.
“It wasn’t easy, but we had to recover, so we are out of it now and preparing for the league. We can’t keep crying over what happened. So far, so good, we are working towards the league,” he said.
Kotoko will return to league action on Sunday, November 2, when they take on Karela United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kick-off is set for 15:00 GMT.
