Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has emphasized that his side’s full attention is currently on their upcoming Ghana Premier League clash against Karela United, despite the much-anticipated Super Clash with Hearts of Oak looming on the horizon.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s encounter, Zito made it clear that Kotoko’s immediate priority is to secure all three points against Karela before shifting focus to their archrivals.
“My first option is the league match we are going to play on Sunday before thinking about the other game against Hearts of Oak, which is one of the biggest in the country. Because Hearts and Kotoko’s match is a different issue altogether. But let’s face the Karela United game first. We are ready for that match,” he told AKSC Media.
The Week 8 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Karela United will take place on Sunday, November 2, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors will then travel to Accra for the season’s first Super Clash against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 9.
Victory in both fixtures would significantly boost Kotoko’s Premier League campaign as they aim to climb higher in the standings.
