Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed says OGC Nice’s 2-0 victory over Lille in the French Ligue 1 was far from straightforward, describing the midweek encounter as a “difficult game”.

The 25-year-old Black Stars player featured for 69 minutes at the Allianz Riviera on Wednesday night, helping Nice to secure all three points in the match week 10  encounter and maintain their strong start to the season.

“Difficult game, but still got the three points,” Samed wrote on social media after the match, acknowledging the intensity of the match.

Nice took the lead in the 29th minute through Sofiane Diop, who converted from the penalty spot, before Isak Jansson added a second late on to seal the win in the 87th minute.

Samed, who joined Nice from Clermont Foot, produced another composed display in midfield, contributing to his side’s control in key moments of the match.

Since arriving in the summer, the Ghana international has made eight appearances for the Ligue 1 side, providing one assist and establishing himself as a consistent performer under head coach Francesco Farioli.

The result has moved Nice to the 8th spot with 17 points of the French top flight.
