Black Queens head coach Kim Bjorkegren has praised his side’s dominant display after Ghana sealed qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a resounding 7–0 aggregate victory over Egypt.

The team followed up their 3–0 first-leg win in Ismailia with a commanding 4–0 triumph in Accra on Tuesday, ensuring smooth passage to next year’s tournament.

Bjorkegren, who guided Ghana to bronze at the last WAFCON in Morocco, said the result reflected the squad’s growing cohesion and belief.

“We respect Egypt, but in the end of the day, it’s an easy game if you win 7–0 over two legs,” he said.

“This was the final step into the WAFCON tournament, and we did very well.”

The Swedish coach’s satisfaction was evident as Ghana extended their fine run of form, blending discipline and attacking fluency throughout the two-legged tie.

The Black Queens will now shift focus to next year’s continental showpiece, a tournament where Bjorkegren believes Ghana can push further after their revival over the past year.
