Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu has kicked against those advocating for the removal of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo stating it will be a disaster for the country especially at the next FIFA World Cup.

Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the Mundial after finishing as winners of Group I in Africa and this was the perfect way to redeem themselves and bring smiles to the faces of Ghanaians after painfully missing out on the next AFCON slated for later this year.

The four-time African champions qualified with an impressive 25 points, culminated from eight wins, a draw and defeat each from ten matches in the qualifiers series.

However, there has been series of opinions since the World Cup qualification was confirmed with many calling for the inclusion of some foreign-born players with Ghanaian descents in order to have a solid and redoubtable side for the big competition.

Others have also called for the sacking of coach Otto Addo and feel appointing a top-notch gaffer to lead the team to the world showpiece will be great as we have quality at our disposal.

In a recent interview, the Minister of Government Communication has disagreed with all those saying that and feels he is the best man to lead the Black Stars since he supervised them throughout the qualifiers.

“I believe these calls are a little bit unfortunate and misplaced. The man who guided us to this qualification in stellar fashion is best placed to prepare the team for the competition itself.”

“It will be a tragic mistake to dismiss the coach and hire a new person who will have very little time to prepare the team.”

The Black Stars will regroup next month to take on two Asian giants Japan and South Korea in highly-rated international friendlies to wrap up the year.
