Veteran Ghanaian coach Stephen Frimpong Manso says he’s on a mission to turn Nations FC into a title-winning force after being unveiled as the club’s new head coach.
The experienced tactician, who signed a two-year deal with the Abrankese-based side, replaces Kasim Ocansey Mingle following a sluggish start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Manso arrives with a point to prove, just weeks after parting ways with Bibiani Gold Stars following their CAF Champions League qualifying exit to JS Kabylie.
Speaking to the club’s media, Manso made his ambitions clear, he’s not settling for mid-table comfort.
“I want to build a team that is strong enough to win titles and also play good football,” he said. “I believe in a team that fights. Football has evolved — knowing how to play alone is not enough. Playing without the ball is the most important thing.”

The 66-year-old coach added that his philosophy will focus on both attacking sharpness and defensive intelligence.
“We’ll look at things critically and get the best out of the players. We’ll deal with the two key aspects of the game, with and without the ball and make sure the players understand that concept.”
Manso’s appointment marks another chapter in his long coaching journey, with Nations FC banking on his experience to steady the ship and push for honours.
His first test will be a tricky away clash against Bechem United, a side that’s been hot and cold this season, and it will be the perfect stage for Manso to show that his rebuilding mission is already underway.
